Great looking skin is the key to any gorgeous beauty look, so we all need the help of a good concealer from time to time, when our skin isn’t quite behaving itself. I recently tried the new OCC Skin: Conceal, $20 to see if it might become my go-to concealer. The concealers are broken up in yellow and red shades, which I was excited about, because I can never find a yellow based concealer for my skin tone. I purchased shade Y5, the darkest of the yellow shades. Take a look at the pics and swatches and find my thoughts on the product below.

So what did I think of this concealer? Well, I have mixed feelings, as there were good and not so good aspects of my experience with OCC Skin: Conceal. First, the good. The texture was truly unique and unlike any other concealer products I’ve ever tried. It literally melts into skin and is very light, yet still maintains a strong level of pigment. Which brings me to the not so good – the color match was terrible. In the jar Y5 looked like the *perfect* shade of golden brown, but on my skin it was an almost grey-ish beige. Not sure if I got a bad jar or what, but needless to say, this didn’t look too good on my brown skin.

If one of the shades offered is a good match for your skin tone, you will enjoy the lightweight, buildable coverage and natural skin-like appearance. If you’re on the fence between colors, you might want to consider buying a couple of shades if you’re able to. I may  try one of the red shades to mix with Y5 to see if it gives a better color match. The formula is too nice to give up on it yet! OCC Skin: Conceal is currently only available online via the OCC website or at their NYC boutique.
