I’m Obsessed with Carol’s Daughter Macadamia Hold & Control Smoother…and Andrea Kelly’s Epic Baby Hair

While catching a rerun of Hollywood Exes over the weekend (for the sake of my precious brain cells, I must break this new Vh1 habit), I was fascinated by the fun-loving Andrea Kelly. Girlfriend stays rocking the baby hairs of LIFE and will tell you “baby hairs, don’t care” in a hot minute. I mean, sure we’ve seen much worse in years past (Ginuwine, anyone?), but Andrea’s baby hair is pretty epic for 2012.

I love Andrea Kelly, but I insist she stop with the abuse of the baby hairs. source

Anywho. Between cackling at Andrea’s hilarious oneliners, I was reminded to tell you about a fabulous little product I’ve been using for the past couple of months to keep my own edges under control. A couple of months back I wanted to try my hand at wearing an updo to my friend’s wedding. I used a Mizani smoothing pomade for years, but I really wanted to find a mineral-oil free product. Enter Carol’s Daughter Macadamia Hold & Control Smoother, $22.

Let me tell you, it is no easy feat to control my thick, coily hair, so I was duly impressed. Macadamia Hold & Control Smoother made my updo smooth and sleek, and provided great hold without making my hair hard or crunchy. It doesn’t melt or leave my edges greasy, and the hydrating macadamia seed oil and honey extract are an added bonus. It’s a must-have for sleek hair styles or when your edges need a little smoothing action – just don’t abuse it a’la Andrea.

Yay, I have a new staple product (total product junkie, lol)! There are some other products in the Carol’s Daughter Macadamia styling line, so maybe I’ll try one of those next. Have you tried? What did you think?
