Beach Beauty: 5 Essentials for the Perfect Beach Bag!

Looking good while hitting the beach takes more than cute sandals and a banging swimsuit – although they don’t hurt! Ha! No, when basking in the sun and the sand you want to stay looking great while protecting your skin from the sun’s rays. Here are my beauty essentials to tote along to the beach!

Sunscreen. I cannot say enough how important it is to wear sunscreen, not only on an average day, but especially on the beach. Both face and body. I like sprays for their convenience and ease of use. Just make sure it’s water proof and reapply often!

Sun protectant for your hair. A day in the sun can wreak havoc on your hair leaving you with straw-like strands. Opt for a chic sun hat or UV protectant hair mist. Even a little leave-in condition will do in a pinch.

Sunglasses. A fab pair of shades can not only add drama and mystique to your beach ensemble (seriously, people will wonder if you’re a celeb, lol), but they also protect the delicate skin around your eyes. Squinting causes wrinkles, and no day at the beach is work crow’s feet. I’m just saying…

Easy, waterproof makeup. If you’re so inclined, you can add a dab of makeup for a pop of summery color (wait, is ‘summery’ a word?). Keep it simple with water-friendly makeup like a gel cheek stain or a couple of swipes of waterproof mascara.

Lip balm with SPF. Prevent a sun-induced dry pucker with a moisture rich lip balm. Don’t neglect your lips from sun protection and make sure your lip balm has a minimum SPF of 15. Go for a tinted version if you’d like a little color.
