Random Beauty Find: Nature’s Blessing Hair Pomade
Every now and then I come across a beauty product that I might not ordinarily try. But being the beauty product junkie that I am, I’ll try almost anything once, and sometimes this results in my finding a new product to love! This very thing happened when I was in NYC last February hanging out at my friend Dayna’s apartment. We were headed out to buy some food to have brunch and Dayna was in the bathroom putting her hair up in a bun when she asked me if I’d ever tried Nature’s Blessings Hair Pomade, $6.70. Her boyfriend uses and loves it and he introduced it to her, and now she uses it regularly to moisturize her naturally curly hair.
Clearly, this information meant that we had to take a detour and hunt down a jar of this stuff. We stopped in Paragon in Harlem and after scouring the crowded shelves (if you’re a Harlemite you know what I’m talking about, lol!) Dayna found a single jar hiding on the back of a shelf. I’ve been using it since then and I’ve got to tell you, this stuff is everything!
The word “pomade” isn’t really an accurate description for this product, as pomades conjure up images of old-school thick, sticky, greasy products. While Nature’s Blessing Hair Pomade looks that way when you open the jar, you instantly feel the difference when you scoop some of this all-natural product out. It literally melts in your hand into a light oil that sinks right into your hair, and can even be used on skin.
It has a natural, herbal scent that I found to linger lightly on my hair. I’ve used it when my hair is in it’s natural kinky-curly state and when I’ve had it blown straight, and both ways it works at moisturizing and smoothing my hair. If you need a good moisturizing product for your hair or are a fan of products with natural ingredients, then give this a try!
