Ask Amber: Moisturizing Lipsticks for Dry Lips
Today, Brown Bombshell Beauty reader Barbara wants the scoop on hydrating lipsticks. Read on to see what I recommend!
Lipstick typically dries my lips, so I don’t wear any, but probably need to do so. What is a moisturizing or hydrating lipstick brand that would you recommend?
A: Hey Barbara! Dry lips can be the bane of any beauty girl’s existence but that’s no reason for your pout to go without color! As soon as I read your email I instantly thought of Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter, $7.49. I reviewed them on my YouTube channel and I absolutely love them (as you can tell from the 5 or 6 of them I have in the video, lol). They’re a cross between a lip color and a lip balm and contain super moisturizing ingredients like shea butter, mango butter, coconut oil and jojoba oil. Plus, they pack a nice punch of color and shine, and there’s a wide range of shades from soft and natural to bold and bright.
Another long-time favorite of mine are from Lipstick Queen, $18, which I’ve also reviewed here and their Red Sinner shade is one of my fave red lip colors. These lipsticks contain shea butter, avocado oil and jojoba oil and I love that each shade comes in both a sheer satin (Saint) or opaque matte (Sinner) finish!
Another great option is BareMinerals 100% Natural Lipcolor, $15. As the name implies, these lipsticks are all-natural and keep lips hydrated with Vitamin E, Cupuacu butter and Monoi D-Tahiti oil. You won’t find any shockingly trendy shades but there’s a variety of classic neutrals, berry, pinks and red shades available. Give any of these a try and your lips will thank you!
