Beauty Blunder: Revlon File-n-Smooth Nail File
It’s pretty rare that you’ll see a negative review here on Brown Bombshell Beauty. Not because I never try products that fail or are less than great. You’ll never see negative posts because I rarely try a product that, well…sucks. More often than not, the product just isn’t for me, which doesn’t mean that it might not work for someone else.
Today, however, I’m sharing a Beauty Blunder with you because this is a product that was shockingly bad. Sadly, Revlon File-n-Smooth Nail File, $3.99 is that product. I purchased this recently because the packaging claims that it’s “unique etched 2 way surface [is] designed for back and forth filing without splitting nails”. This couldn’t have been further from the truth.
I usually file in one direction for the express purpose of preventing splits, which ends up taking more time, so I was excited to try this file. Upon the first use, my nails were immediately ripped and split at the tip. It’s been a few weeks now, and all of my nails have broken off and are split and peeling down to the quick. NOT OK. I’ve now begun using a protein treatment to try to restore my nails to their previously healthy state.
The Revlon File-n-Smooth Nail File is just to rough and severe to file natural nails without damage. Perhaps those with acrylic or gel nails won’t have problems with this product. As for me, this product is officially named a Beauty Blunder. Have you experienced a product that turned out to be a Beauty Blunder lately? Share it in the comments.
