Beauty Review: Specific Beauty Exfoliating Cleansing Cloths
My skin seems to be undergoing major changes lately. One day it was oily and I was battling blackheads, and the next day it seems as though the aging process decided to start up out of the blue. Lovely, huh? Well, as a result, none of my previous skin care products are really doing it for me anymore, so I’m on a quest for a new regimen for my “on-the-cusp-of-30″ skin. While my skin took its precious time deciding if it wanted to sprout wrinkles or pimples, I decided to try out Specific Beauty Exfoliating Cleansing Cloths, $6.99.
I MUST have a good cleansing cloth in rotations at all times. They’re great for cleansing skin and removing makeup on lazy late nights, for a quick cleansing first thing in the morning or a refreshing pick-me-up after a workout. Basically, you need cleansing cloths to live. Ha! I’ve been meaning to try Specific Beauty’s cleansing cloths so I picked them up for about $5 on a recent trip to Wal-Mart. Here’s what the brand claims it’ll do:
The new Specific Beauty Exfoliating Cleansing Cloths are dual-sided to gently exfoliate the skin, while providing a deep clean to remove impurities, all without the need to rinse with water. On one side the cloths contain textured beads for exfoliation. On the other side, the cloths are smooth for easy and gentle makeup removal, including stubborn eye makeup.
The fragrance, oil and alcohol free cloths contain a blend of aloe, green tea, and Vitamin E to soothe and calm the skin. These daily cleansing cloths are hypoallergenic, dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested and are safe for contact lens wearers. Skin will be left feeling clean, smooth and refreshed.
So do the Specific Beauty Exfoliating Cleansing Cloths live up to the hype? Well, I certainly found them to do a great job at deep cleansing makeup-less skin. Seriously, these things really clean up! Makeup removal, on the other hand, not so much. Just yesterday I used two cloths and they still didn’t remove all my makeup. On a positive note, I LOVED the exfoliating side of these cloths. Although it was gentle and non-abrasive, the little beads worked great. I even ran it across my lips and it easily removed some pesky flaky skin. And it is also worth noting that these cloths don’t leave a greasy film like many other brands that I’ve tried. If you’ve got dry skin, you might need a light moisturizer after use.
Overall, I liked these and will probably purchase them again. They weren’t so hot at removing makeup, but they were fabulous at cleansing my skin on the days I didn’t wear makeup. Plus, I’m totally addicted to the exfoliating nobs and clean feeling I get afterwards. I look forward to trying more products from Specific Beauty!
The entire Specific Beauty line is available at Wal-Mart and on the Specific Beauty website, and is also available online at Target, Drugstore.com and DermStore. Have you tried any products from Specific Beauty? Have a favorite cleansing cloth? Share it with us in the comments!
