Beauty News: Nicki Minaj the New Face of MAC Viva Glam + Eva Marcille to Host Hair Battle Spectacular + More!

The beauty news is coming fast and furious this week, so let’s dish!

After the success of her MAC Pink Friday lipstick last year, Nicki Minaj has been announced as the newest face of MAC’s Viva Glam campaign, launching February 2012. Nicki will be joining Ricky Martin as a spokesperson for Viva Glam, which raises funds for the MAC AID’s Fund. Here’s what Ms. Minaj tweeted earlier today from her David LaChappelle MAC photoshoot in Miami in yesterday:

Can’t wait for my barbz & ken barbz to wear this new shade of lipstick! Wait til u see it! Sickening!!!! #VivaGlam2012

Can’t wait to see what they come up with! I just hope it’s a little more wearable than Pink Friday was straight out of the tube…

America’s Next Top Model Winner Eva Marcille has been announced as the host of season two of Oxygen’s Hair Battle Spectacular. Season 2 will air August 15th as the hairstylists battle it out for $100,000. I tuned in during the first season to see the over-the-top Derek J judge (of Real Housewives of Atlanta fame), but soon lost interest. I may have to tune in again to check “Eva the Diva” out!

 

Target is teaming up with an impressive roster of designers yet again, but this time in the beauty aisle! The discount retailer has announced that in August it will sell limited-edition tubes of Maybelline’s iconic Great Lash Mascara in honor of the mascara’s 40th birthday. Retailing for $6.99, three remixed tubes will be available from designers Max Azria, Tracy Reese and Vivienne Tam. I haven’t used Great Lash in years, but I have to admit the Tracey Reese tube above is cute!

 

 Lastly, there are some major changes coming over at legendary cosmetics brand, Fashion Fair. Not only does the brand have a new president, but will soon be rolling out new store displays and a new website. Fashion Fair has made definite strides in the last couple of years to update their image and their products, so hopefully the new changes will make the brand more fab!

    Hopefully the Mac Viva Glam ads won’t be as outrageous as Nicki Minaj’s music videos, haha! I’ve never heard of Fashion Fair, but I’ll be sure to check it out. :D

    LOL! With Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin, I think we are definitely going to see some high drama in the ads! And definitely check out Fashion Fair, particularly their stick foundation and pressed powder! :)
