Bombshell Beauty School: How to Wear MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga 2 Lipstick + Lipglass on Brown Skin

MAC and Lady Gaga are back at it! Every year MAC releases a Viva Glam lip shade(s) to benefit the MAC AIDS Fund, which supports those affected by HIV and AIDS. Last week Lady Gaga renewed her role as Viva Glam spokesperson and released the Gaga 2 Lipstick and Gaga 2 Lipglass. Take a look!

While these beige-nude shades may look intimidating out of the tube, they are actually quite wearable on darker skin tones with a little tweaking. It’s hard to get a feel for how these shades look on camera, but I think I was able to get an accurate pic below.

In the photo taken with flash, you can see that the are obviously nude shades, but in the photo without flash you are really able to see the difference between the lipstick and lipglass formulas. The Gaga 2 Lipstick is more beige in color, almost like a concealer. The Gaga 2 Lipglass has a very slight hint of pink.

To make these shades more wearable I decided to try them on with MAC Lipliner in Cork, a true, medium brown. I first applied the lip color then added the lip pencil over it. Here’s how it turned out!

By adding a pencil in a deeper shade of brown, I was able to create a nude lip, an essential look to have in your beauty arsenal. Every girl needs a great nude lip in her back pocket for those times when you’re rocking a dark, dramatic eye look, or when you’re going for a “no-makeup” look . You can achieve this look with Gaga 2 and any brown lip pencil. The darker your skin tone, the darker shade of brown pencil you should use, and vice versa if you’re lighter complected. For a pop of color, add a deep burgandy or plum pencil to Gaga 2 to create a pretty, berry shade that’s perfect for the upcoming warmer months.

I’m more of a lipstick girl, but I actually really liked the look of the Gaga 2 Lipglass, as I tend to go for a slightly glossy look when I wear a nude lip. I also think it may be the easier to wear between the two formulas. The Gaga 2 Lipstick and Lipglass will be available until February 2012 and 100% of the proceeds go to the MAC AIDS Fund.

Will you try the new Gaga 2 lip shades? Already have them? What did you think?
