Best Bronzers for Brown Skin + Video Tutorial

If I had to name one cosmetic product that can make a tremendous difference in your appearance, I would have to chose bronzer. A little sweep of golden bronzer on the face can give a brown girl a gorgeous glow! The right bronzer can make our skin look healthy and give it a luminous glow. I wear bronzer pretty much every day, and I can’t tell you the compliments I get.

The trick is to find the right shade of bronzer that will make you look like you’re glowing from within, instead of giving an ashy or glittery appearance. When selecting a bronzer, brown girls should look for one that has a golden or bronze color. Leave the pink or pearl bronzers to our fairer skinned sisters! So which bronzers look best on us? Iman is one of my favorite go-to brands for fabulous cosmetics for all shades of brown skin. I love her face makeup products and the Iman Bronzing Powder in Afterglow, $15 is no exception! This trio of shimmering shades can be swirled together or used individually as a bronzer and blush!

Cover Girl Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer, $6.99 each is a great option that is made just for our unique skin tones. It comes in three beautiful shades: Light Bronze, Brown Bronze and Ebony Bronze. I’ve read that celeb-makeup artist Sam Fine uses these on his clients!

Too Faced Aqua Bunny Cream to Powder Splash-Proof Bronzer, $28 is positively yummy! From its luxurious creamy texture, to its delicious coconut scent, I love everything about it. This bronzer is ideal for a subtle bronze color on light to medium brown skin, without any shimmer. Perfect for the fall and winter months as well!

You can’t beat an effective bronzer for three bucks, and Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Princess, $3 definitely fits the bill! When I received this bronzer I was stunned at the terrific color payoff and gorgeous golden color. If you’re a beauty on a budget, you must give this bargain bronzer a try!

Cargo Bronzer in Dark, $25 is award winning for a reason, ladies! This bronzer gives the most gorgeous, natural golden color, and makes my skin look perfect! I swear by this bronzer and recommend it to people all the time. Try it just one time and you’ll be hooked!

Bronzer without the perfect application is a disaster waiting to happen! I get perfect results every time with EcoTools Bamboo Bronzer Brush, $10. The bristles are crazy-soft, and dense enough to make application a breeze. I highly recommend you scoop up this brush!
