Get Queen Latifah’s Super Bowl Makeup Look!

Well, the Saints and the Colts gave us one heck of a game last Sunday, but the Saints and the “Who Dat” nation prevailed! While others are still watching play-backs of the game, I’m focusing on Queen Latifah’s beauty game!

The Queen always looks fabulous, and her appearance at the Super Bowl was no different. Lucky for us, her makeup artist Monifa Mortis gave the scoop on what she used to achieve this glamorous, yet easy, look. Here’s what she had to say:

For the 2010 Super Bowl, I looked to Queen Latifah’s styling for inspiration. Queen Latifah was wearing a black and gold custom jacket with a black tank and dark wash jeans, so I wanted to compliment that look. Since the Super Bowl is held in such a huge arena, it was also important to make sure that her eyes had smoky definition so all the fans could see her.

After rimming the eye with a simple black eyeliner, I applied a black eyeshadow to the outer corner and crease of the lids. For a pop of color, a shimmery cranberry shadow was used in the center and inner corner of her eye lid. To achieve a similar pop of color, I recommend applying COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Purple Plume. I then used COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Minerals Bronzer in Ebony Bronze to blend the two colors and warm the eye lids. I love Queen Collection Bronzer because it also absorbs oil on the face.  I also used the bronzer to enhance Queen Latifah’s warm complexion by applying it to the cheekbones and temples of her forehead. Next, I applied an icy copper lip color topped with a gold shimmer gloss to compliment Queen’s jacket.  To finish her look, I applied a double coat of COVERGIRL LashBlast Mascara on the lashes, and Queen Latifah was ready to take the stage.

Queen Latifah looked fab didn’t she?! And who would have guessed that Monifa used bronzer as an eyeshadow? This is a totally achievable (and affordable) look that I think I’ll be trying out!

I love it on how they put makeups on dark people. Because their skin color is not a hindrance to them being beautiful.
