Essence Magazine is Looking for Fashion’s New “It Girl”!

Everyone knows about the shortage of Black models in the fashion industry. Well, Essence has decided to do something about it! Today, they launched their new Essence It Girl contest to find the hottest, freshest new face in fashion.

The winner will be featured in an upcoming issue of Essence magazine and will be signed to a one year contract with the legendary Elite Model Management! Not really feeling the modeling bug? Watch the model contest unfold online (you know I’ll be watching!)!

    I don’t really think there is a shortage since many of the black models working now are getting lots of work, but will see how this competition pans out.
