Cover Girl: Rose Cordero Covers French Vogue

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Cover Girl post, so I figured this news-worthy cover was perfect for a comeback! Model Rose Cordero is absolutely stunning on the cover of the March issue of French Vogue. This cover marks the first time a Black model has appeared solo on the cover since 2002. Way too long if you ask me! You may recall the uproar French Vogue created last October when they featured a Dutch model in blackface, instead of just hiring a Black model. MAJOR side eye. So I don’t know if this was to remedy that, get more publicity or if they just really liked Rose.

    Okay she looks absolutely gorgeous!!!…at the moment though…I’m a little annoyed that Black people are still having to have “firsts” or “firsts in a long time” in 2010. But I’ll try not focus on that. Her work here is incredible!

    I soooo wanted to buy this issue this weekend. But its $15.95 and all the issues were busted looking at the Barnes and Nobles I was in. I need it to look pristine for that kinda money! I will find it elsewhere!
