Beauty Review: Fashion Fair Daily Hydrating Cleansing Cream

Old-school beauty brand Fashion Fair is back, and they’ve received a major makeover! Once the only cosmetic brand catering to skin of color, Fashion Fair was huge back in the day. But Fashion Fair had become seriously outdated, and Black women became able to find makeup and skin care from mainstream brands.

Well, Fashion Fair has undergone a major overhaul and is poised to become a contender again in the beauty game. Not only have they revamped their cosmetics, but they’ve revamped their skin care line, too.

I received some items from the new skin care line and gave my mom the Daily Hydrating Cleansing Cream, $20* to test out. FYI, my mother quit using Fashion Fair products 20 years ago, and has since sworn off department store beauty products in favor of buying drugstore beauty items exclusively (much to my shock and disbelief). Point blank, she’s become a beauty miser (Sorry, Ma!). That’s what makes her love of this product all the more surprising. Check out what Mom had to say:

The Fashion Fair cleanser is excellent.  It takes off mascara and everything without the need for a separate eye make up remover.  It leaves my skin with a soft, moist feel.  I would recommend it for dry or aging skin.  In fact when I run out I will actually buy some more.  That’s a news flash!

Can you believe it?! She’ll actually buy more! I don’t know why, but I feel super touched right now! Maybe now we’ll take mother-daughter shopping trips to the beauty counter at Nordstom, or hit up Sephora together. Oh, who am I kidding? I should quit while I’m ahead!

Now I’m stoked to test out the other Fashion Fair products I recieved. I’ll be sure to report my findings!
