Beauty Find: Lumene Lift Touch Cleansing Oil
About a year and a half ago I decided to delve into the world of cleansing oils. I’d heard that they were great for removing makeup and cleansing the skin without drying it out. They even come in versions for oily skin!
I first tried Dermalogica PreCleanse to great success, but being the product junkie I am I couldn’t leave well enough alone. So I decided to try Shu Uemura’s cleansing oil that every beauty guru from here to Timbuktu raves about.
Well, my experience was less than positive. Shortly after using the rather pricey oil, I broke out with a huge cystic pimple right on the tip of my nose. It was horrible! I had to go the the dermatologist to get a cortisone injection, and it still didn’t go away completely for several weeks. I couldn’t be sure that the cleansing oil had caused the pimple, but I avoided them at all costs to be safe.
Lately, my usually oily skin has become rather dry to due prescription acne medication and the cold, dry weather. So, I decided to give cleansing oils another shot. I didn’t want to shell out for a costly department store oil, so I hit up CVS for a cheaper alternative.
Luckily, I happened across Lumene Lift Touch Cleansing Oil, $11. It removes every bit of makeup with ease, down to my mascara. It claims to be for dry skin, but I don’t find it to be at all moisturizing. This is probably due to the fact that it isn’t 100% oil. Because of this, I would recommend this cleanser to all skin types, except those that are really dry and in need of moisture from their cleanser.
Lumene Lift Touch Cleansing Oil is available exclusively at CVS stores.
